I'm not going to go into the details of how we met, but ever since we started working together... I've had a bad feeling. He's kept me in the dark about a lot of things... which is understandable--since he's a freaking secret agent and everything--but I dont know. Something feels "wrong" and I can't put my finger on it. Ever felt that way?

I mean it's not his temper, or the fact that he treats me like a kid... it's almost like... I feel like he's lying to me, but I can't say about what. Ugh. Maybe I'm just being paranoid... I took an online personality test once, and it said I might suffer from paranoia. Probably true. Anyways... enough rambling from me... here's the drop I wrote up for this Monday.

***

Red Monday is in 27 days.

So, if you’re reading this, you’re probably trying to find more information about the Event, Red Monday. Unfortunately, I don’t have all the answers… yet, but every week a clearer picture is starting to emerge.

Here’s what we know so far:

You can call me JC. I’m working as an informant for a man named Saul, who is a member of the NCS. I’m a civilian, and I work in IT. I established Red-Monday.com as a drop-point for Saul and his fellow g-men to download documents and information about the “Event.”

The “Event,” whatever it is, is slated to occur on November 26th, 2007, agreed to and authorized by a man whom we only know as “The Prince.” I discovered this information while combing through some Echelon files provided to me by one of Saul’s associates, a woman whom I only know as “Echelon/3.”

We suspect that the “Prince” is in fact a man named Khalid bin Sultan, but this is not confirmed. Khalid is a member of the Saudi Royal Family and a military man. Though he is today an accomplished philanthropist, he was at one point exiled from his country, possibly for challenging the (then) king’s authority. Whatever his motives at that time, he appears to changed his focus entirely, now concentrating on issues like education and environmental protection. So it seems.

What is more unsettling, however, is that I’ve discovered many references linking him with an individual known as “AQ.” By all indications, this is none other than the father of the Pakistani nuclear bomb: Abdul Qadeer Khan. Moreover, Saul has made me aware of a recent meeting between this “AQ” and Khalid at a nuclear power plant in Pakistan. The implications of such a meeting, by itself, are enough to make me concerned.

However, I don’t know what happened at the meeting, so I need to confirm that there is really something going on here, besides idle conversations. Without any evidence that the Saudi’s are building (or buying) a bomb, we’re just groping in the dark. So now I’m looking for evidence that this might really be happening.

So far, I’ve been pretty fruitless, as the server has been pretty much idle the past week or so. I did come across something new, though, but what it pertains to I’m not sure:

I downloaded this satellite photo from a locked directory named “debrief.” There were other files in the directory, but they looked like they were corrupted.

Does anyone have any idea where this is? Saul’s team is busy dealing with some kind of directive from higher up about Iran… so I can’t pull official resources for SatAnalysis on that one. Besides, I don’t think I’m ready to loop him in on this, until I’m sure something is really going on.

I’ll be trying match this with a set of actual coordinates, too. Let me know what you find.

~ JC
______
11/26/07 is Red Monday | www.Red-Monday.com | Gabriel | Nereus

Hmm..

Email from JC:

Is the government filtering stories on Digg?

Is the government filtering stories on Digg? Pretty provocative question, isn't it? But if you've been a part of the whole "Red Monday" mystery this past week or so, you might be asking that question, too...

For a few weeks, I've been participating in Red-Monday.com (pass: gabriel), a site which resembles an ARG, but might not be... more on that later. It focuses on a secret government intel gathering operation directed at a big wig (a real person) in Saudi Arabia.

A weird thing about it is this one guy (girl?)... "Ayanami Rei" who's been posting in a thread about RM on the unfiction forums. He claims to "own a firm which is registered to do business with the Department of Defense." Okay.

Recently, he put forward a kindof crazy idea... that "Red Monday" might be an actual US intelligence gathering operation, and that the government is using the cover of a game to make us do the dirty work for them. Uh...I'm not so sure about that, but here's what he said:

"2. There's some stuff that I don't like. This could be someone attempting to use uF players and other people to conduct an actual operation against a target. We've all bantered about how maybe a government is doing this. Well, I bring this up."
But what makes this whole thing more creepy is that there was a supposed leak of "sensitive information" pertaining to Red Monday, which made it's way onto the homepage of Digg on Wednesday, October 3rd. After about 2 hours of naked exposure, the story was promptly buried.

Normally, this wouldn't be much to gawk at, except that people involved with Red Monday have been getting emails that thank "NSMike" (the guy who posted "Buried for sensationalism" in that link above) for helping to suppress the story. wtf?

From the e-mails:

"(btw special thanks to echelon/3 and NSMike for burying the story so quickly... you infocontainment guys are a lifesaver.)"
Okay... Echelon? "Information suppression"? If this is just a game, than how are these things (and people) involved? It couldn't all be controlled from a central source... it would be impossible to coordinate, especially since "NSMike" joined Digg more than a year ago.

If Ayanami is right, and this is some sort of wigged-out "OSINT" operation, than it might mean that the US government is actually filtering stories on social news sites. However, it's also possible that this guy is just part of the game, stirring up confusion to try and make it more interesting.

But if he is, how could he (or "they") coordinate a story to get dugg AND get buried in such a suspicious manner??

No matter how you look at it, I think there's more to this than anyone realizes...

What is Red Monday?

So sometime around the end of September / beginning of October, people started talking about this new site, Red-Monday.com (the password is "gabriel" for those not in the know). Nobody is sure what it is, but it's weird and interesting, and I like that. Some people think it's an "Alternate Reality Game," (ilovebees type thing) and at least one person thinks it might be some kind of real-world intelligence operation involving the NCS (an arm of the CIA). I don't know about that, haha...

Regardless, it's getting more involved with cryptic emails and weird forum posts (purepwnage rules, btw), reports of shadowy (government?) surveillance and wotnot... obviously it's something trippy.

But anyway, I could probably go through and make a whole big post about "what we know" so far, but it would probably be redundant. You can find most of what's important here, here, here and here. Rather than regurgitate what people have already found, I want to try and give some unique perspectives, so expect that soon...

____
Ninjas vs Pirates. Ninja's win. Duh.
